Indianapolis Superstructures, LLC is a custom builder specializing in the construction of insulating concrete form (ICF) homes in Central Indiana. For existing homeowners, we offer custom porches, decks and associated landscaping design. Also, we are proud to promote the home design values espoused by nationally known architect and writer Sarah Susanka* in her “Not So Big House” books. These values help ensure that your new house is a truly a home to be cherished.

ICF’s are hollow foam blocks which are stacked into the shape of the exterior walls of a home, reinforced with steel rebar and then filled with concrete. Insulating concrete forms combine one of the finest insulating materials, Expanded Polystyrene (EPS), with one of the strongest structural building materials, steel reinforced concrete. The result is a wall system of unmatched comfort, energy efficiency, strength and noise reduction. The interior and exterior surfaces are finished the same as any other home. Although important, ICF construction is only one of the methods we employ in the building of a home that is “green” and practical. We highlight some of these at the Building Methods/Materials tab.

If you prefer conventional construction, we will be happy to build an energy efficient home for you and your family with 6” exterior stud walls and super-insulation.

I’m sure you will agree that a home is much more than a house - each of us can intuitively tell the difference. We each have our own unique feelings, perceptions and dreams. However, there are several definable architectural features that help make a house a home and they should be carefully considered in the design phase. In general, these attributes involve space, light, order and personalization. We embrace and foster these concepts developed by Sarah Susanka*. For over ten years she has espoused these architectural values in her series of “Not So Big House” books. If you choose not to employ an architect, we will work with you to help ensure that your finished house is, in fact, a home for you and your family.

The addition of custom porches and decks has become a popular enhancement for existing homeowners. A multi-function indoor/outdoor living space can be created for significantly less, on a square foot basis, than a finished addition. These unique areas can include fireplaces, outdoor kitchens, hot tubs, pools and more. The possibilities seem endless. We also offer complementing landscape design for the new space. From design through construction, we can create and build an “outdoor room” that will quickly become a family favorite.

We are a Christian oriented company and as part of our support of the local Christian community, we provide consulting services related to energy conservation and website development to local churches.
